The Anti-Floral -- That's Angel Perfume!
Now, I don't have anything against floral fragrances. As a matter of fact, I rather like them. There are quite a few in my personal fragrance collection. However, one of my favorite all-time scents happens to be one that contains not a trace of floral. It's Angel, by Thierry Mugler of Paris, and it's truly one of a kind!
I don't know what drew me to this fragrance. Perhaps many things. The bottle itself is stunning -- pale blue glass shaped like a star. The gorgeous bottle aside, when I read the description of the fragrance, I knew I had to try some. I'm talking ingredients like vanilla, sandalwood, fruit, patchouli, and chocolate. Yes, chocolate! I call this perfume the anti-floral because it's the only perfume that I have personally ever heard of that contains zero floral notes. So if you're seeking a unique fragrance gift for a girl who hates cloying floral scents, then Angel perfume is a perfect pick!
I'm a small-town girl, so in order to try Angel perfume I either had to drive two hours to the nearest Sephora, or use the Internet to order some. I'm not a big driver -- so of course I chose the Internet! Now, the first thing I noticed is that Angel perfume isn't cheap. And since I'm on a budget, I really didn't want to put out that kind of money for a fragrance I'd never even tried. So I found a solution -- buying samples.
I went on Ebay and was able to find some reasonably priced authentic Angel samples up for sale there. So I ordered two of them, and within one week, they arrived. I tore open my package and extracted my samples, tiny little spray vials. After one spritz, I was hooked!
I think I smelled my arm all day long. I'm sure I got some strange looks in the grocery store that day! But I couldn't help it -- this fragrance is so heavenly! All the elements contained within blend together perfectly to create a scent that is warm, foody, yet with a fruity spice. And you can definitely smell the chocolate. I adore Angel perfume, and will wear it for years to come.
