The Allure of Designer Perfume
Almost every well-known designer out there has at least one fragrance as part of their collection. Some have quite a few! Why do so many people flock to department stores to purchase these costly bottles of scent? One reason is the designer name. Designer perfume gives you a way to own a piece from your favorite designer without breaking the bank. Also, scent is a powerful thing, and let's face it, designer perfume smells good. Most of it, anyway!
So, if you're looking for designer perfume for yourself or as a gift, how do you know where to start? Well, if you're a fashionista, you could just try an offering from your favorite designer. Or, you could head to your local department store or Sephora and start sampling fragrances until you find the one you like the best.
Chanel is an example of a design house that is also famous for their fragrances. From classics like Chanel No. 5 and Chanel No. 19 to newer offerings like Mademoiselle, Allure, and Chance, Chanel perfumes run the gamut from light and girly to rich and sophisticated.
One of my favorite producers of designer perfume is Burberry. Although Burberry Touch is my favorite, other popular fragrances by this London design house include Burberry London and Burberry Weekend. If you want a fragrance that invokes a feeling of class and feminity, you can't go wrong with Burberry!
Calvin Klein is another hot designer that has a popular perfume line. Classics like Eternity, Escape and the old standby, Obsession, can be found on women's dressing tables around the world! One innovative offering from Calvin Klein is CK One, a light, fresh unisex fragrance that smells fantastic on both guys and girls!
And let's not forget Gucci! This Italian design house famous for their pricey gowns, handbags and shoes also has a top-selling perfume collection that includes such sought after classics like Rush and Envy. Maybe you can't afford a Gucci bag -- but at least you can smell like you can!
There are countless other designers such as Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Dolce and Gabbana, Lolita Lempicka, and Givenchy -- all of whom offer their own designer perfumes. You could spend years testing all the designer perfume choices there are these days.
So what's a girl to do if she loves designer perfume yet can't afford to collect all the ones she wants? Try a replica! There are lots of designer imposter fragrances out there that smell extremely similar to the real thing -- sometimes even better! I know by experience -- I have a dupe of my beloved Burberry Touch that lasts longer than the real thing!
