Are You Crazy About a Discontinued Perfume? Read On!
I am a personal fan of discontinued perfumes. There are several that I've managed to acquire and add to my collection. My personal favorite has to be the perfect Coty L'effleur. This fragrance was offered in the early nineties and came in feminine floral packaging. I would best describe L'effleur as a soapy floral, a fragrance that's clean and very girly. But it seems that Coty has stopped making this divine scent that was a staple of my high school years.
I lived without L'effleur for years, until I realized I could still find my beloved discontinued perfume online. Thanks to Ebay, I was able to purchase a big bottle of L'effleur for the same price it used to be offered in the stores.
There are other discontinued perfumes that I love also. One of my other all time favorites is BeautiControl Positively You. BeautiControl's founder, Jinger Heath, designed Positively You to smell differently on everyone. This warm, spicy floral blends with your individual skin chemistry to create a one of a kind scent. I have found this fragrance online as well, but I'd say it's a little harder to find that L'effleur.
Another discontinued perfume I remember is Revlon's Intimate. I recall begging for a bottle of this when I was in the sixth grade, and luckily, my mother bought it for me. I remember the bottle shaped like a woman's body, and the alluring, rich scent that was contained therein. I haven't worn this fragrance since then, but if I could find it again, I would.
One discontinued perfume I remember is not a perfume at all, but a body spray. More accurately, a collection of them. Back in the late 80's, Parfums de Couer Designer Imposters came in body spray bottles that looked like people! The cap to the spray was usually a little hat. I cannot find these anywhere, but when I was younger, I collected them. I think my fragrance phobic father threw them out -- which is why I don't have the empty bottles to this day. I remember presenting my music teacher with one that looked like a lounge singer with a microphone. I wonder if she still has it -- maybe I should look her up!
